The Installation Meeting of Warlingham Conclave
The Installation meeting of Warlingham Conclave took place at Nutfield on the 30th September 2020. Present were our Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler, R.Wy.Bro. Colin Beerling; our Deputy Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler, Wy.Bro. Paul Fitzgerald; and our Visitor, Wy.Bro. Len Hillier.
The Conclave was opened by the Supreme Ruler, Wy.Bro. Chris Eley, who welcomed everyone. Our Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler entered through an Arch of Steel and was warmly welcomed by the Supreme Ruler. On taking the Chair the Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler said how encouraging it was to see so many members present, eighteen out of nineteen members, plus many visitors.
A ballot was taken for a Joining Member, Wy.Bro. David Blackburn who is the District Grand Master of the District of Surrey in the Order of Royal and Select Masters. The ballot proved in his favour and Wy.Bro. David was welcomed into the Conclave by the Supreme Ruler who said that we now have four heads of Surrey Orders as members of the Conclave.
Bro. James Walker was installed as Supreme Ruler by Wy.Bro. Chris Eley, assisted by R.Wy.Bro. Mik Barnes, Past Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler, who gave the signs, and R.Wy.Bro. Colin Beerling, Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler, who gave the Address to the Supreme Ruler, as well the Lecture on The Weapons, all in a faultless manner.
The Officers of the Consistory were appointed and those present were invested. R.Wy.Bro. Colin Beerling, congratulated Wy.Bro. James and wished him a successful year.
The Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler then presented Certificates to W.Bro. James Walker and Bro. Jim Turner.
After the meeting we all retired to the bar for refreshments before enjoying a most convivial meal together.
