A meeting of Hill of Zion Conclave No 270 was held at Croydon on Thursday the 21st of April. Present was the Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler, R.Wy.Bro. Colin Beerling, and the Provincial Grand Visitor, Wy.Bro. Len Hillier. Also present were the Grand Summus in the Order of the Scarlet Cord, M.Dist.Comp. Ian S Currans, a member of the Conclave, and the Provincial Grand Summus, R.Dist.Comp. Arnold Long.
The Conclave was opened by the Supreme Ruler, Wy.Bro. James Smith, who welcomed R.Wy.Bro. Colin Beerling, and the Provincial Grand Visitor, Wy.Bro. Len Hillier. The Provincial Grand Ruler was saluted with seven under the direction of the Director of Ceremonies, R.Wy.Bro. Trevor Currans.
The main item on the agenda was Induct Brothers Italis Nwokorie, George Etuk and Adebayo Ajilogba into the Order. Brothers Italis, George and Adebayo were inducted into the Order by the Supreme Ruler, assisted by R.Wy.Bro. Colin Beerling who gave the Explanation of the Weapons and the Address to the Candidates; all in an excellent manner.
Brothers Italis, George and Adebayo were welcomed into the Order by our Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler.
Brother Donald McGarr was elected as Supreme Ruler, and V.Wy.Bro. Arthur Johnson was elected Treasurer for the ensuing year.
The Companions then voted to donate the sum of £150 to the Ukraine appeal and £150 to the Sutton Women’s Refuge.
After the Conclave was closed the Brethren of Hill of Zion Conclave and their guests dined together at Croydon Masonic Hall.
