The Conclave was opened by Wy.Bro. Alastair Richardson the Supreme Ruler. The Brethren welcomed the Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler, R.Wy.Bro. Colin Beerling, on his Official Visit to the Conclave, accompanied by members of the Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler’s Arch of Steel and Provincial Officers of the year. The Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler was saluted with seven under the direction of the Provincial Grand Director of Ceremonies, Wy.Bro. Ian Bloodworth.
R.Wy.Bro. Colin introduced the members of his escort and said how much he was looking forward to this, the Installation Meeting of Warlingham Conclave No. 291. He said how delighted he was to see so many members and visitors at the meeting, especially the Conclave’s Visiting Deacon, Wy.Bro. Len Hillier, back on his feet after his operation.
A ballot was taken for Wy.Bro. Hugh Everett a member of Sword Invictae Conclave No 516 to became a joining member. This proved in his favour and the Supreme Ruler welcomed Wy.Bro. Hugh into the Conclave.
Wy.Bro. Alastair Richardson then installed Bro Martin Smith as Supreme Ruler in a most sincere manner.
The Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler gave the Address to the new Supreme Ruler and he also gave the Lecture on The Weapons - both in a faultless manner.
Wy.Bro. Martin Smith appointed and invested the Officers for his year, after which R.Wy.Bro. Colin and Wy.Bro. Len congratulated Wy.Bro. Martin wishing him a most enjoyable year.
To round off a most enjoyable afternoon, the Brethren of Warlingham Conclave and their many guests enjoyed a most convivial meal at the Nutfield Masonic Centre.
In the reply to his toast the Provincial Grand Supreme Ruler took the opportunity of thanking Wy.Bro. Alastair Richardson for all he had done for the Conclave during his year as Supreme Ruler.
The next meeting of the Conclave will be on Tuesday 31st March 2020, which will be preceded by a meeting of the newly Consecrated Warlingham Scarlet Cord Consistory.
